To celebrate Brentford Football Club’s 125th anniversary, a special hard-back book was commissioned by the club to commemorate the landmark event – the authors unearthed a treasure trove of previously unseen and long forgotten photographs, wonderful cuttings, fascinating information and rare memorabilia – some of which dates back to the club’s earliest existence. The book was so popular that it sold out in a little over ten days.

The speed of sale unfortunately left fans, and football book collectors in general, frustrated that they were unable to obtain a copy of the lavish, limited first edition and enjoy the book for themselves. However, it has led to a unique opportunity, and the publishers have launched a Kickstarter project  so fans can back, and be part of, the reprint project. There's also a lovely video to watch.

Kickstarter is the perfect way to become involved in supporting this updated edition, all purchasers will receive a copy of the book couriered to them, plus a free name dedication in the book and a certificate of thanks.

The story starts with the events building up to the formation of the club by its founding fathers, right through to the euphoria that surrounded the May 2014 promotion to the Championship and the Premier League Play-Off push under Mark Warburton last season.

The book, which is produced by those behind the impressive Big Brentford Book series, has been designed to celebrate events and re-live matches which have been etched in the record books, and to remember the players and some of the personalities who have rightly earned their place in the memory banks.

The journey through the decades has been achieved by replicating actual press cuttings from a variety of sources, many by local newspaper reporters George Sands and Ernest Gifford – in addition to the pseudonym ‘Argus’ – a moniker that was handed down to successive journalists from the Edwardian period right through to World War Two. The updated version of the book will also include the highlights of the club's amazing 2014/15 season.
