Brentford Football Club have 18 players across the First Team and B Team that have been called up by their national teams ahead of the upcoming international break
We have 12 full internationals and six players in youth squads, including Ivan Toney's first England call-up and Bryan Mbeumo's maiden call-up for Cameroon.

Thomas Strakosha - Albania
Thomas Strakosha’s Albania have two Nations League games during the international break, where they take on Israel in Tel Aviv on Saturday 24 September, 7.45pm and Iceland at the Air Albania Stadium on Tuesday 27 September, 7.45pm.
The Eagles are currently third in League B Group 2 after two games.
The Club’s summer signing could be the first ever Brentford player to play for Albania, and become our second international goalkeeper after David Raya made his first cap for Spain.
Bryan Mbeumo - Cameroon
Bryan Mbeumo could make his first Cameroon cap after switching his international allegiance from France in August.
They have two friendlies against Uzbekistan on Friday 23 September and South Korea on Tuesday 27 September, 7.45pm at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, as they prepare for their World Cup campaign later this year.
The Indomitable Lions Cameroon have been drawn in Group G with Switzerland, Serbia and five-time world champions Brazil at the tournament in Qatar.
Yoane Wissa - DR Congo
Yoane Wissa has been named in DR Congo squad to face fellow African sides Burkina Faso on Friday 23 September and Sierra Leone on Tuesday 27 September in friendlies during the international break.
Yoane will be looking to add to the six caps he already has for his country.
Mikkel Damsgaard and Mathias Jensen - Denmark
Brentford’s Danish midfielders Mikkel Damsgaard and Mathias Jensen are both in the national team squad for Nations League clashes with Croatia and France.
Kasper Hjulmand’s side, who are currently top of League A Group 1 after four games, take on Croatia in Zagreb on Thursday 22 September, 7.45pm and France at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen on Sunday 25 September, 7.45pm.
Mathias’ next cap would be his 20th for his country - only two other players have ever reached 20 while playing for the Bees.
Mads Bidstrup - Denmark Under-21
Mads Bidstrup, who is currently on loan at Danish Superliga club Nordsjaelland, is in the Denmark Under-21s as they take on Croatia in a two-legged play-off for the 2023 Under-21 European Championships.
The winner will qualify for the tournament that will take place in 2023, hosted by Romania and Georgia.
The first game will take place on Friday 23 September, 5pm, before the second-leg in Denmark on Tuesday 27 September, 5pm.
Ivan Toney - England
Ivan Toney received his first England call-up last week and will be in the Three Lions squad for Nations League games against Italy and Germany.
Gareth Southgate’s side are currently bottom of League A Group 3 after two defeats and two draws. They face European champions Italy at the San Siro on Friday 23 September, 7.45pm, before they take on Germany at Wembley Stadium on Monday 26 September, 7.45pm.
Ivan could be the first England international since 1939 and the first Brentford player to ever score for the Three Lions.
Keane Lewis-Potter - England Under-21
Keane Lewis-Potter has been named in Lee Carsley’s England Under-21 side.
The Young Lions will face the Italy Under-21s at Stadio Adriatico on Thursday 22 September, 4,30pm, before taking on Germany on Tuesday 27 September, 7.45pm at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane.
A minor injury issue kept Keane out of our defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.
Matthew Cox and Daniel Oyegoke - England Under-20
Both Matthew Cox and Daniel Oyegoke have been called-up to the England under-20 squad for three friendlies against Chile under-20s, Morocco under-20s and Australia under-20s.
England will take on Chile in their first game on Wednesday 21 September, 7pm, before facing Morocco on Saturday 24 September, 5pm, and then rounding the trip off against Australia on Tuesday 27 September, 4pm.
All three games will be played in Spain.
Saman Ghoddos - Iran
Saman Ghoddos’ Iran will face Uruguay on Friday 23 September, 5pm, and Senegal on Tuesday 27 September. Both games will be played in Austria.
The Bees winger’s next Iran appearance will be his 10th cap since he joined us - only nine other players have played 10 international games while playing for the Club.
The friendlies are ahead of Iran’s World Cup campaign later this year, where they have been drawn in the same group as England, which could see Saman take on Ivan in Qatar.
Frank Onyeka - Nigeria
Frank Onyeka has been named in the Nigeria squad for their friendly against Algeria on Tuesday 27 September, 8pm at the Oran Olympic Stadium in Algeria.
The midfielder could make his eighth cap for the Super Eagles.
Kristoffer Ajer - Norway
After returning from injury and featuring in our defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, Kristoffer Ajer has been called-up to the Norway squad for their upcoming Nations League games.
They take on Slovenia away from home on Saturday 24 September, 5pm, before Kristoffer, alongside the Premier League’s top goalscorer Erling Haaland, face Serbia on Tuesday 27 September, 7:45pm.
Norway are currently top of League B Group 4 after three wins and a draw from their first four games.
Aaron Hickey - Scotland
Aaron Hickey’s Scotland have three Nations League games over the international break, as they look to top League B Group 1.
Currently second, Steve Clarke’s face group leaders Ukraine at home on Wednesday 21 September, 7.45pm and away on Tuesday 27 September, 7.45pm. They also take on Ireland at Hampden Park on Saturday 24 September, 7.45pm.
Aaron could become the Club’s first Scottish international since 1947, and no Bees player has ever scored for Scotland.
David Raya - Spain
David Raya has been named in Luis Enrique’s Spain squad for their Nations League games against Switzerland on Saturday 24 September, 7.45pm, and Portugal on Tuesday 27th September, 7.45pm.
Spain are currently top of League A Group 2, having won two and drawn two of their four Nations League games.
Raya won his first international call-up to the senior team in March 2022, and made his debut with a start in a 2–1 win over Albania on 26 March.
Halil Dervisoglu - Turkey
Halil Dervişoğlu, who is currently on loan at Championship outfit Burnley, has been called-up to the Turkey squad for their two Nations League games.
Turkey take on Luxembourg on Thursday 22 September, 7.45pm, before facing Faroe Islands on Sunday 25 September, 7.45pm. Stefan Kuntz’s side are top of League C Group 1 after four wins from four.
Halil currently has the Club Record for most international goals while playing for the Bees (six).
Yehor Yarmoliuk - Ukraine Under-21
Brentford B Team midfielder Yegor Yarmoliuk could add to his four Ukraine Under-21 caps when they take on Slovakia Under-21s in a two-legged play-off to qualify for the 2023 Under-21 European Championships.
The away leg will be played on Friday 23 September, 5pm, before the second-leg in Poland on Tuesday 27 September, 4:30pm.
Fin Stevens - Wales Under-21
Fin Stevens, who is currently on loan at Championship side Swansea City, has been named in the Wales Under-21 squad.
New manager Matty Jones has named Fin in his 26-player squad for a friendly against Austria in Vienna which will take place on Tuesday 27th September, and forms part of their preparations for the 2025 Under-21 EURO qualifiers which begin next year.
