The 2013/14 season was a record-breaking season for Brentford Football Club.

As well as securing promotion to the second tier – The Sky Bet Championship – for only the third time in the Club’s history, a number of other records were broken.

The win against Stevenage at Griffin Park on the final day of the season was Brentford’s 1,500th Football League victory.

It also gave The Bees 19 home wins, out of 23 games, in the campaign, the most since the 1934/35 season.

The only time Brentford have won more home games was in 1929/30 when, historically, they won all 21 home games.

That season – 1929/20 – The Bees won 28 games, a Club Record that was equalled by the 2013/14 squad.

The 94 points earned last season was a Club Record, as was the eight consecutive league wins in a single season – from the victory over Peterborough United on November 26 to the success against Port Vale on January 11.

The 19 game unbeaten League One run that incorporated those eight wins and ran from October 19, when The Bees beat Colchester United, to a defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers on February 22 saw Brentford win 16 games and draw three, their best ever run of results.

When Stuart Dallas scored against Colchester United in April he became the 20th player to score for The Bees in 2013/14, also a Club Record, breaking the previous best of 19 in 1998/99.

Statistically, it was Brentford’s fourth best season – earning 2.04 points per game under three points for a win.

In 1929/30 Brentford earned 61 points from 42 games that would have translated to 89 points from 42 games under three points for a win – 2.12 points per game.

In 1932/33 The Bees earned 62 points from 42 games that would have translated to 88 points under three points for a win – 2.10 points per game.

In 1934/35 Brentford won 61 points from 42 games, 87 under three for a win – 2.07 points per game.
