Since it became apparent that I have been diagnosed with PC, I have been totally overwhelmed and humbled with the outpouring of love and support that I have received from every corner of the Brentford family, both past and present. So much so that I feel quite guilty as currently I feel fine, although I guess that may change once the treatment fully kicks in.
I have done my best to respond personally to every such message of support but in this savvy age of social media, it is difficult for an old fossil such as I am, to keep pace or indeed to be totally aware from where such messages emanate.
Please therefore accept my eternal gratitude for every message received, which together with the inspiration I take from those who have been there before me, instills in me the faith to drive on and conquer as others have done.
The lure and smell of the GP turf, the sight of my red and white heroes in first class action, the atmosphere generated by our fans and of course the feel of the mic in my hands, all play a major part in my determination to be back at Griffin Park from Saturday week and throughout the season ahead which promises so much.
Up The Bees!
