Brentford B striker Aaron Pressley has joined Sky Bet League One side Accrington Stanley on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season.
The 21-year-old has featured for the B team in recent weeks, scoring three times since his return from a long-term injury.
He heads to Lancashire in positive form having helped the young Bees to the knockout stages of the Premier League Cup, scoring in a 2-0 win over Peterborough United in the side’s last match of 2022.
This will be Pressley’s second loan spell away from Brentford having played 27 times for AFC Wimbledon during the 2021/22 campaign prior to injury cutting his season short.
Having regained match fitness with Neil MacFarlane’s side, Pressley will now head to the north west to join Accrington who currently sit in 20th in League One.
Stanley were in action on Monday evening where they were beaten away from home by Derby County. The side were also beaten 2-0 by Morecambe on 29 December after they claimed a 1-1 draw with Barnsley on Boxing Day.
Discussing the opportunity for Pressley to step out on loan, Brentford B head coach Neil MacFarlane said: “It’s fantastic for Aaron, who has come through a tough spell with his injury. He has come back fantastically well and has really contributed for us in recent weeks.
“Aaron goes to Accrington with a chance to build on his experience of League One football which he gained with Wimbledon last season.
“He’s maturing all the time and he’s a hugely driven individual with a brilliant character. He is somebody who has a big presence at the top of the pitch who can bring a lot of good attributes. We think he can be a really good asset for them and we wish him well.”
