Brentford Under-18s could not make it three wins from four games in the league as they were defeated by two goals to nil at Wheatsheaf Park this afternoon.
With the scores level a penalty was missed and late on Otis Honor was sent-off for a second bookable offence.
Brentford U18s were looking to get back to winning ways in the PDL this afternoon as they took on David Meylor’s side.
The away team started the better of the two sides as Evan Anderson was called into action instantly as he made two key saves to deny Zac Jagielka from getting an early goal.
Brentford were gettinging a foothold in the game and two chances in succession followed. Gregory Asemokhai first peeled off at the back-post diverting a header just wide. Following that, a last-ditch tackle from Alfie Perry denied Naeem Giscombe a simple tap-in after a fine through ball from Otis Honor.
The game entered a period where both sides were struggling to fashion any chances.
Two minutes from the end of the first half, Giscombe broke free and was then tugged back in the box by Stan Hewitt as the referee pointed to the spot.
Archie Howard in the Hull City net, denied Kaya Halil’s penalty attempt.
Instantly, the away side went on the counter-attack and despite the boys seeming in control a loose pass from goalkeeper Evan Anderson allowed Josh Ocaya to steer an effort into the net.
The lead was doubled just after half time as Perry had a free-kick from the edge of the box and as he shaped to cross the ball, he instead decided to shoot, to catch Anderson off his line and find the back of the net.
The boys were getting into dangerous positions but the final ball was lacking today.
Otis Honor received his second yellow card as he committed a late foul in the closing moments of the game.
The game would end in defeat as Hull City saw out the win.
The Under-18s will next be in action on Friday 6 September as they take on Barnsley away from home in the PDL.
