Alan Judge became Brentford's first Republic of Ireland international in nearly 70 years as he made his debut last night in a 1-0 win over Switzerland. The 27-year-old played the full 90 minutes for Martin O'Neill's side in Dublin: Ciaran Clark's second minute header gave the Boys in Green a morale boosting victory ahead of the European Championships this summer.
The attacking midfielder has been in wonderful form for The Bees this season, contributing 14 goals and ten assists in 37 appearances. Alan was an unused substitute in Ireland's European Championship Play-Off draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina back in November but last night was his first taste of senior international action.
Alan will be hoping to pick up his second cap on Tuesday when Ireland host Slovakia at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, in their final friendly ahead of the provisional squad announcements for this summer's Championships.
