Alan Judge’s two long range goals earned him special recognition this week.
The attacking midfield player scored twice as The Bees beat Crewe Alexandra 3-1 on Saturday in Cheshire.
He scored the first early on when he picked up a half cleared Alan McCormack cross, having been involved in the move earlier, and lashed a shot in to the top corner from 20 yards.
Alan doubled his tally, and Brentford’s when he spun and fired a wickedly dipping shot past Crewe goalkeeper Ben Garratt from 25 yards.
Those two strikes earned Alan a place in the Football League Team of the Week.
The team, published on the Football League website, is drawn from the performances over the previous seven days in all three Sky Bet Football League divisions.
Alan is one of five midfield players selected.
The full team can be seen here.
He is the first Brentford player to be named in this season’s Football League Team of the Week.
The selection started in January after the old Team of the Week format – an XI selected from each division every week – was discontinued at the end of last season.
