Assistant Manager Alan Kernaghan gave his post match reaction to the win at Crawley, a victory that saw Brentford claim their fourth successive victory in a row.

“We looked solid,” said Alan.

“I thought we were defensively very good today, cut them down to maybe one or two chances in the second half, maybe at times we could have exploited them on the counter attack.

“We had two chances with Kadeem [Harris], where we could have got the ball out to him, but miss-hit the pass, so from that respect, a little frustrating but overall, I thought we deserved the win.”

Alan agreed with the assertion that a settled side has shaped the recent run of victories.

“Results would back that up, Jonathan [Douglas] has come in and made us look a little bit more solid, and also added to our attacking play as well.

“Kadeem’s been a great addition to the squad, and those changes have helped us get the four results, along with the rest of the guys putting in good work.

“For us to keep a steady, settled team has been right, and justified by the results.”

George Saville was replaced at half time, with Alan explaining the reason for the substitution.

“He was ill, vomiting at half time” said Alan.

“So he did really well to get through 45 minutes; we could see he looked a little bit leggy, not his usual self, but managed to battle through, so I tip my hat to him for getting through the game.”
