Former Hull City forward Jarrod Bowen stole the headlines in Brentford's 4-2 defeat at West Ham United on Monday night, but another ex-Tigers star Keane Lewis-Potter put in a very positive showing for the Bees.

David Moyes had his team fired up from the beginning with Jarred Bowen (who briefly played alongside Lewis-Potter at Hull) scoring twice for his side within the opening 10 minutes.

The visitors reduced the deficit soon after when Ivan Toney's ball found Lewis-Potter. The 23-year-old then played in Neal Maupay to fire into the roof of Alphonse Areola's net.

Lewis-Potter was being deployed in a more unfamiliar right-wing back role at London Stadium, a position that the player admitted after the game he is still “getting used to”.

Despite being at right wing-back, Lewis-Potter's pass to Maupay was his first assist of the season – something Mikkel Damsgaard also achieved when he came off the bench to set up Yoane Wissa late on.

In total, Lewis-Potter made three key passes in the game, more than any other player in his team with only Emerson – whose spectacular goal effectively confirmed the outcome – having more for West Ham (4).

Lewis-Potter's overall passing was good having a success rate of 85 per cent and the player was involved in much of Brentford's play having 73 touches in total (the fourth most of any Brentford player and more than all but two of the Hammers).

Even with Lewis-Potter playing slightly wider and deeper in his new role, he still managed two attempts on target in the game, the same number as Ivan Toney. Only Jarrod Bowen had more efforts on target with all three of the England international's on-target efforts resulting in a goal.

While Lewis-Potter was perhaps Brentford's best player on the pitch it's worth pointing out the shift Sergio Reguilón put in on the left flank.

The on-loan defender had a tough evening against the lively Mohammed Kudus but made more tackles (7) than anyone on the pitch while also offering support whenever he got a chance to go forward.

In fact, Reguilón has been one of the Premier League's most prolific tacklers this season. The Spaniard has only made six appearances since joining on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in January having spent the start of the season at Manchester United.

But from those six games, Reguilón is averaging an impressive 3.5 tackles per game – only two players average more this season: Vinícius Souza (3.9) and João Palhinha (4.8).

One final thing to take from this game is the two goals that Brentford did score and the fact that it was almost more in the final minutes of the game.

Ivan Toney had a tough night competing with Kurt Zouma and Kostas Mavropanos but had two excellent chances in stoppage-time that, had they gone in, could have set up a show-stopping finale.
