Andy Gogia has signed a season-long loan with Dynamo Dresden. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder left today on a nine-month loan deal that will see him link-up with the 2.Bundesliga side until June 2017. The loan does not include provision for a recall.
The attacking midfielder signed for Brentford in the summer of 2015 from German side Hallescher FC and made his competitive debut against Ipswich Town in August 2015. He played in 14 matches for The Bees last season, 13 of those in the Sky Bet Championship. Born in Rustavi, Georgia, Andy previously won Youth International honours with Germany at Under-18 and Under-19 levels.
He started his senior career with VfL Wolfsburg, spending loan periods with FC Augsburg and FC St. Pauli before his move to Hallescher FC in 2013.
Brentford Head Coach Dean Smith said: “Andy is still our player but we felt it best to send him out on loan so that he can play games. He hasn’t played as many games as he would have liked to and we can’t guarantee anybody game time. It is best for all parties that Andy goes out, plays games, and comes back a better player for it.”
