There has been a late change to the Brentford B fixture list and Kevin O’Connor’s side will have to wait slightly longer for their next action. Brentford B were due to face Bristol Rovers later today, Tuesday 30 January, in their third match of 2018. This fixture has, however, been cancelled. That means the next fixtures for Kevin O’Connor’s side will be in Ireland next month.
Brentford B will head to Ireland for games against Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers on Wednesday 7 February and Saturday 10 February. These will be pre-season friendlies for the two League of Ireland sides and are expected to be open to any fans in the area. They will be looking to bounce back to winning ways in those two matches. Kevin O’Connor’s side lost the second of two games in four days against Reading last Wednesday, suffering a 3-2 defeat. That came on the back of a 9-1 win secured by a Brentford B team featuring a few First Team players last Sunday.
The Reading defeat ended a five-game unbeaten run that stretched back to November. Brentford B came from behind twice to draw 3-3 with an Exeter City XI in their first game of 2018 and ended 2017 with a 2-2 draw against Manchester City, conceding two late goals. Wins against Barnet and Wolverhampton Wanderers preceded those two draws. Brentford B have now won 16 and lost only eight of their 28 games so far this term.
The 2017/18 fixture list has including wins against sides including Benfica B, Chelsea, Everton and Legia Warsaw as well as Italian giants Internazionale Milano and Associazone Calcio Milan. And there are more big games coming up. Fixtures have been arranged against Manchester City and a Chelsea side, as well as fellow Premier League outfits Swansea City and Huddersfield Town. And the next Griffin Park game has been confirmed with Manchester United visiting on Tuesday 20 March.
A game against Glasgow Rangers will take place in March and will be immediately followed with a clash against Heart of Midlothian as part of a trip north of the border. The clash with Manchester United comes after that. More details will follow on all games in due course. All upcoming fixtures are subject to change and can be altered at very late notice. The Club will release final details on all matches closer to the date. Home games will usually be played at the Club’s Jersey Road Training Ground and be open to supporters.
