Brentford B face an XI from Grasshopper Zürich this afternoon, Friday 28 September, at GC Campus. Kevin O'Connor's side play this game at 2.30pm local time before flying back to London in the evening.
The Opposition
Grasshopper Club Zürich, referred to mainly as GC around Switzerland, is the most successful domestic club in the country. Holding a record 27 league titles and 19 National Cup trophies, they are the longstanding big boys of Swiss football.
They don't just host football teams for men and women of various age groups, they also have sides playing ice hockey, basketball and handball.
Under the guidance of former Bayern Munich midfielder Thorsten Fink, GC play their football in the Swiss Super League. Ten clubs compete for the title in the top division in Switzerland, the current champions being BSC Young Boys.
Opposition Boss
Patrick Schnarwiler, a 45-year-old Swiss former footballer, is in charge of Zürich's youngsters. He started out as the Chief Trainer of Luzern's U18 squad.
Stepping into life at GCZ, he was thrown in as Assistant Manager in 2017 before stepping down to coach the reserve and youth sides at the club.
Brentford B
Ali Coote was brought off during Wednesday's matches with a back problem and will be assessed before the game this Friday afternoon. Luka Racic missed out on both games with Freiburg U21 and Zürich U23, and will likely miss out on the match due to a muscle strain in his leg.
Henrik Johansson has shown progress in training this week but lacks match fitness and it would be a surprise to see his inclusion at this early stage against GCZ. Kolbeinn Finnsson played a starring role in midweek and will surely be involved from the start.
Pre-Match Feature
B Team Head Coach Kevin O'Connor spoke to us on Thursday morning before recovery training. He told us about the difference between the two games on Wednesday afternoon and then looked ahead to this afternoon's match with Grasshopper Zürich.
