Last weekend, fans and players came together at Brentford's Premier League match against Burnley in a show of support to the people of Ukraine affected by the Russian invasion.

Images of the yellow and blue card display in the North Stand were beamed around the world and fans also snapped up the specially designed blue and yellow ‘Bee Together’ t-shirts which were available in the Bees Superstore. The first order of t-shirts sold out with all with all profits from the sales being donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Appeal to deliver humanitarian aid directly to those in need.

Given the popularity of the Bee Together t-shirts, a new delivery has now been received, with fans able to buy online or in-store.

And while the Club is also making a contribution the DEC Ukraine Appeal, there are other local fundraising efforts which have been set up to provide much-needed help to those in Ukraine or those having to flee their homes.

Brentford fan, Kate Hiscox, has organised a raffle which has so-far smashed her initial fundraising target of £5,000 to support the British Red Cross’s efforts in Ukraine. Over £27,000 has been committed to the raffle to date.

Another Brentford fan (and former local MP), Mary Macleod, has just returned home from the Ukraine, one of 12 drivers of a convoy of six ambulances packed with medical equipment as part of the Ambulances for Ukraine campaign organised by management consultant Khaled El Mayet from Cheltenham.

Meanwhile, the sports media outlet, London Football Scene, are also fundraising to raise as much money as possible for the on-going relief efforts in Ukraine. Liaising with the UK Ukrainian Sports Supporters Club (UKUSSC) and the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB), they are looking to raise as much money as possible for British-Ukrainian Aid.
