Brentford goalkeeper Jack Bonham has joined Sky Bet League One Bristol Rovers on loan for the season. The 24-year-old completed the move to the West Country side this morning, Monday 27 August. Jack will be available to play for Rovers in their Carabao Cup tie against Queens Park Rangers tomorrow and the Sky Bet League One game against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

Phil Giles, Brentford FC Co-Director of Football, said: "Jack has begun the season as third choice behind Daniel Bentley and Luke Daniels, so it made sense that he should go on loan. We hope that he will have another successful loan, this time in League One, and we will be monitoring his progress closely."

Jack has had limited playing time at Brentford since he arrived five years ago. He joined The Bees in the summer of 2013 after being released by Watford and made three appearances in his first year at the Club. He has played four more games, seven in total, and made his first Sky Bet Championship appearance for The Bees in a draw with Barnsley last year.

Jack made his professional debut on the last day of the 2012/13 Championship season for Watford as a substitute. He had started the day as third in line but injuries to the two main goalkeepers thrust him in to the role. Jack left Watford a few days later and joined The Bees having been on trial earlier that year. The goalkeeper has also represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-17 level.

Jack spent last season on loan at Carlisle United and made 42 League Two appearances during that spell, playing 49 games in all competitions. Rovers have won one of their first five League One games but did beat Crawley Town in the Carabao Cup. They are 20th in the embryonic table.
