Brentford will play in the Final of the prestigious Milk Cup after defeating Liverpool 5-4 on penalties in the Semi-Final.

Audrius Laucys cracked home the winning penalty to send the Bees through and set-up a final with Everton tomorrow.

The game had ended 1-1 after 60 minutes with Herson Rodiguez Alves scoring an early goal for the Bees.

Liverpool fought back to level the scores before half time.

Neither side could find the winner in the second period and the tie was to be decided by penalties.

Both sides confidently scored all their spot kicks until Liverpools 5th penalty taker stepped up.

Goalkeeper Jordan Carey guessed the right way to save and give Laucys the chance to send The Bees into the final.

The Lithuanian made no mistake to book Brentford's Under-15 side a place in the Final tomorrow.

Liverpool were quick out of the blocks and Carey had to be alert to push a volley wide of the near post.

But Brentford hit back and scored with their first attack.

A cross into the box was directed to Alves and the Liverpool keeper and his marker went up for the ball but all missed - the Brentford midfielder was quickest to react and prodded the ball into the empty net.

Rimelle Straker had an effort which just sailed over the bar before the Reds hit back.

Liverpool's £1m midfield player controlled the ball in the air before firing over the bar.

Alves forced the Liverpool keeper into another low save, before Pool struck back.

Left winger Harry Wilson escaped the Bees defence and the winger gave Carey little chance to bring the scores back on level terms.

Brentford could have been back ahead just before the break.

A Reece Cole corner bounced dangerously in the six yard box before being scrambled away for another corner.

From the resulting corner, the Bees had the ball in the back of the net but Laucys was adjudged to have fouled the keeper.

There was little in chances in the second half and it wasn't until Brentford gave away a dangerous free kick on the edge that Liverpool looked to have broke through. The Liverpool winger took responsibility but his free kick was just wide of the goal.

Brentford responded and Seika Jatta fired an effort just over the Reds cross bar.

It was Brentford who ended the stronger of the two sides. Cole forced the keeper into a good save from a free kick.

The Bees did have the ball in the back of the net after a deep free kick from Jordan Watson. The referee took pity on the Liverpool keeper and disallowed the goal.

The game as to be decided on penalties and Tom Ferry, Ben Peden, Mikael Bongili, Reece Cole and Audrius Laucys scored to set-up tomorrow's final.

Danny Buck was delighted with the result but urged caution.

"It was a tight game. Liverpool started well but after the first five minutes we settled down and were firmly on top when we took the lead. We continued to look dangerous until Liverpool scored a good goal.

"The second half was a cagey affair but we looked dangerous on the break and Liverpool failed to trouble our goalkeeper.

"We have been working on penalties ever since we have come back from pre-season and that hard work has paid off tonight. The players had to deal with thousands of Liverpool supporters standing behind the goal to put them off and it took courage, composure and great technique to score".

"I am very proud of the team and we now need to analyse the game and look back at the Everton DVD and be ready for tomorrow's final.
