Brentford B have added another striker to their ranks, bringing in Finnish youth international Marcus Forss. The 18-year-old has signed a two-year deal at Brentford after leaving West Bromwich Albion at the end of last season. The teenager completed his scholarship at West Brom in May but will now start his professional career in West London. He signed for Brentford B today, Thursday 22 June, after passing a medical and will link-up with his team mates for the start of pre-season training tomorrow.

Marcus featured regularly for West Brom in the Under-18 Premier League and scored six goals for The Baggies in that competition. He also played for the Premier League team’s reserve side and in the Checkatrade Trophy. Marcus has been a regular for Finland at youth international level. He is currently part of the Under-19 squad and played all three games in the recent Baltic Cup, scoring three goals. In total, Marcus has played nine games for his country, scoring six goals.

Robert Rowan, Brentford FC Head of Football Operations, said: “I’m pleased to welcome Marcus to the club after his scholarship with West Brom. Marcus is a number nine who currently represents Finland at Under-19 level. He was identified by our scouts towards the end of last season and tracked over the Summer on International duty.

“We were looking to bring in another striker who can compete with Joe Hardy and Jan Novak to be our number nine. Marcus is actually quite similar to Joe in regards to their high level of finishing skills whether that be one-on-one, outside of the box or in the air. We will need to work on areas of his game to fit into our style of play but we look forward to that. Marcus will begin pre-season training with his team mates tomorrow before travelling to Hungary in two weeks.”
