Over the past week, Neil MacFarlane’s side have beaten Reading Under-23s, Hanwell Town and Bromley, and they now set their sights on a trip to Spain to further their progression as they take on Albacete Under-19s and FC Cartagena.

The team will fly to Alicante on Sunday morning where they will be put through their paces in training before they travel to Ciudad Deportiva Andrés Iniesta on Tuesday 5 November to take on Albacete Under-19s in a 5pm kick-off local time.

Former FC Barcelona midfielder Andrés Iniesta, who is from Albacete, lent his support to the complex, which has continued to develop over the years, therefore the site was renamed after the World Cup winner in December 2012.

Following another training session, Brentford B will then be back in action for their second fixture on Thursday 7 November in a 10:30am kick-off local time as they welcome FC Cartagena to their training site in La Manga.

Discussing the trip to Spain, Brentford B coach Sam Saunders said: “Every game on the schedule is a different challenge, they’re Spanish teams so they’ll be different to what we’ve faced against Bromley and Hanwell.

“We’ll see what they’re set up like and we’ll do our analysis on them and it will be a good test to see how the boys react against this different opposition. They’ll be another test and it will hopefully improve the lads because that’s what we’re here to do. Since the second that myself and Neil (MacFarlane) came through the door we’ve seen a big growth and improvement from the lads and hopefully that continues.”
