Brentford B goalkeeper Ben Winterbottom has extended his Bees contract until 2025, with a club option for an additional 12 months.

Winterbottom joined Neil MacFarlane’s side from Liverpool in January 2021 and has made 43 appearances for the young Bees.

He has also been a regular trainer with Thomas Frank’s first team and joined the squad for their mid-season training camp in Spain last season.

The keeper joined National League South outfit Welling United at the start of the current campaign and has made 11 appearances, keeping two clean sheets.

Director of football Phil Giles said: “Ben has done very well for us since he joined us, so I’m pleased that he’s agreed to stay with us longer and continue his development.

“Even though he has yet to make his first-team debut it's important to note that he plays an important role around the first team on a daily basis.

"He will remain with Welling until January and then we can decide with Ben the next steps of his career.”
