Brentford B's Benjamin Fredrick feels signing for the Bees is a great opportunity for him to prove himself, after joining on loan for the remainder of the season with an option to sign permanently.
Benjamin, who arrives from Simoiben FC, will link up with Neil MacFarlane and the rest of the B team squad as the side continue their work in the new season.
The youngster says he’s pleased to be signing for Brentford and is excited about the project that the club offers.
“I haven’t been in contact with Brentford for very long, but I’m pleased to be here because the technical director told me the plans they have for me and it’s a really great opportunity.”
The centre-back was part of Nigeria’s Under-20 side that reached the World Cup quarter-finals, with the youngster appearing four times for his country in the competition.
Benjamin speaks on his World Cup experience and explains how he feels he can benefit from the facilities at the Robert Rowan Performance Centre.
He continued: “It was my first World Cup so it was a great experience, playing in front of fans was good for me.
“The facilities here will definitely improve you as a player, the pitches at the training ground are very good and I feel it will help me to do well.”
Fredrick will aim to add solidity to the B team backline as the defender gives an insight into his early conversations with MacFarlane and went on to describe himself as a player.
“He (MacFarlane) was talking to me about how he feels I can improve my game and was telling me so much about the team.
“I’m a good player, a disciplined player who doesn’t like losing only winning and I love achieving goals with my teammates.”
