Brentford B will face Arsenal Under-21s in the Premier League Cup Quarter-Final stage on Monday 13 March in a 7pm kick-off. The match will be played at the VBS Community Stadium which is the home of Sutton United.
The young Bees confirmed their place for the fixture against the Gunners having beaten Middlesbrough Under-21s 2-1 at the Lamex Stadium at the end of January. Prior to that they finished top in Group D with five wins from their six group matches.
As for Arsenal, they topped Group G of the competition before they met Reading and beat them 2-1 at Meadow Park in the first knockout stage. Arsenal’s Under-21 side also compete in Premier League 2 Division One and they currently sit sixth in the table having collected 27 points from their 17 matches.
Ticket prices for the match are £5 for adults and Under-12s can gain entry for £2. All tickets will be available at the gate.
The B team will go into the game off the back of two fixtures against men’s opposition as they head back to Portugal for two more tough tests. They were in the Algarve in February to compete in the Atlantic Cup where they faced sides such as Ulsan Hyundai and AIK Fotboll before they beat Halmstads BK 1-0 in their final match.
They return to Portugal this time to face Icelandic side Breiðablik on Saturday 4 March in a 7pm kick-off at the Estádio Municipal de Albufeira before they then face Swedish side IF Elfsborg on Thursday 9 March in a 3pm kick-off at the same venue.
