Brentford B will head to the south of Spain this week for two fixtures against European opposition.

Neil MacFarlane’s side will face Betis Deportivo Balompié, the reserve team of Real Betis, on Thursday before facing Italian giants AC Milan’s Primavera side on Saturday morning.

The B team frequently head overseas over the course of a season to test themselves against elite opposition. The latest sees them follow up their pre-season campaign with this trip to Spain.

Thursday 17 August: Betis Deportivo Balompié v Brentford B, Ciudad Deportiva Luis Del Sol, 8pm local time, behind closed doors.

Saturday 19 August: Brentford B v AC Milan Primavera, Ciudad Deportiva Luis Del Sol, 11am local time, behind closed doors.

The matches will not be played in front of the general public but the match with Betis will be streamed live on the Spanish side’s YouTube channel. We will also have match coverage across our website and social media channels. The match with Milan will not be streamed live.

Betis compete in the Segunda Federación which is the fourth tier of Spanish football. The league consists of many B sides of La Liga clubs and is split into five groups. They get their campaign under way on 3 September at home to Cádiz CF Mirandilla. They will also face AC Milan on 18 August in a friendly fixture.

As for Milan, the Bees will come up against their Primavera side which is an under-19 age group which is the highest youth level team at the club. They compete in the Campionato Primavera 1 which is a youth league. Milan’s 2023/24 league season gets under way against Monza on 26 August.

Brentford B also recently had their Premier League Cup group fixtures confirmed and they begin their defence of the trophy with a home match against Fulham next month. The side’s pre-season campaign has seen them take on teams such as Slough Town, Bristol Rovers and Chelsea in recent weeks.
