Neil MacFarlane's Brentford Under-21s made it three wins on the spin in the league as his team blew away QPR in an entertaining derby day match.
Ashley Hay continued his fine form, scoring a hat-trick to go alongside his incredible display. Iwan Morgan was the other goalscorer.
Brentford were in complete control as QPR were penned into their half.
Hay opened the scoring, pouncing on miscommunication at the back to return back to the scoresheet in the league.
Two minutes later, the lead was doubled in style as Morgan lobbed the keeper from just outside the box.
Kyreece Lisbie’s pace was causing problems and fresh off his goal against Ipswich Town the previous week, the winger went close to scoring, with the goalkeeper scurrying back to his goal to retrieve the lobbed attempt.
Despite the fast start, QPR should have got a goal back after Ridwan Hassan was played through but the striker failed to connect.
Brentford resumed control of the game and Isaac Holland put in a fantastic delivery but Morgan could not control his header to find the net.
After a fast opening 20 minutes, the game settled into a calmer rhythm as the away side had a couple of shots on goal which gave Julian Eyestone something to think about. The young Bees’ shot-stopper was calm and assured though, saving comfortably from the QPR attempts on goal.
The third arrived with just over 30 minutes played, a good team move saw Holland deliver an inch-perfect cross to Hay, who stroked the ball into the net.
QPR had the first chance of the second half as Jake Leahy rose highest to direct a header towards goal and, with Eyestone rooted, his effort hit the crossbar.
The second half was far less eventful but with 15 minutes to go in the game, Hay secured his hat-trick to put the icing on a fantastic win and a great individual performance.
Monday's win means it is three victories on the bounce for the young Bees in the league.
Brentford U21s will be in action next on Monday 4 November, when they host Millwall at Wheatsheaf Park.
