Brentford B were in pre-season action on Friday evening as they faced Hanwell Town at the Powerday Stadium.

The young Bees, featuring multiple trialists in the game, were beaten 2-0.

The Bees had the first real chance of the game as a trialist burst through the Hanwell Town midfield and fed Beaux Booth, but the midfielder failed to control the ball with only the keeper to beat.

Julian Eyestone, making his first start for the B team was called into action, making a fine stop to parry away a strike from the edge of the box.

A well-worked corner saw Owen find Chanse Headman at the back post but the goalkeeper pulled off a fine save from the centre-back’s header.

The home side took the lead on the stroke of the half time whistle as their winger cut inside from the right, finishing at the near post.

A pair of trialists combined as one of them was played through on goal but the keeper was up to the task denying us a leveller.

Another trialist went close as his shot in the box was saved well by the goalkeeper.

Hanwell doubled their lead from the penalty spot after the referee felt a trialist’s attempt for the ball was mistimed.

The match would end 2-0 to the home side in the young Bees’ first pre-season game.

The B team's next pre-season game is on Saturday 20 July as they take on Sutton United at Wheatsheaf Park. Kick-off for that game is 4pm.
