What do you already miss about the United States?

The weather - it has to be. Coming from Texas, it’s about 100 degrees over there now; coming here it’s raining, cloudy and pretty mild. I don’t mind it, but I definitely miss the sunshine sometimes.

Favourite sport other than football?

It’s going to have to be beach volleyball. I would spend all my summers out playing beach volleyball with my friends.

What’s a fun fact about you?

I can solve a Rubik's Cube. I think I can do it in under a minute. You might not want to put me on the spot for that one, but I think I can say that.

How does it feel being 6ft7in?

The air’s a bit thinner! Heat rises so my heads a bit hotter. No, it’s good except from the doorways being short in England. I’ve hit my head a few too many times.

Would you rather save a last-minute penalty or score a header from a corner?

I would have to say save a last-minute penalty, just because I’ve saved a lot of them and it’s the best feeling.

Which goalkeeper do you look up to?

[Thibaut] Courtois, definitely. I grew up watching [Manuel] Neuer, I love him but definitely compare myself to Courtois now that I have grown so much.

Whose accent have you struggled with the most so far?

Conor [McManus]. Conor’s accent is strong. I had an Irish friend back at Duke. He rattled off a sentence to me on one of my first days and I turned to him and was like what?
