Ethan Brierley converted from the spot against Gillingham this afternoon as we drew against their Under-21s side at Wheatsheaf Park.

Iwan Morgan missed a penalty early on and Brentford B had a number of chances to be out of sight. The game would end 1-1 as we had to settle for the draw.

It was a slow start to the game as our young Bees were trying finding their feet in the game.

Lisbie had our first chance of the game as he cut in and stuck an effort that the keeper saved well.

Gillingham took the lead through their striker Josh Andrews who took his time in the box to slot it into the corner of the net.

Lisbie was played through on Brierley and the winger was fouled in the box as the referee awarded a penalty to us. Iwan Morgan stepped up but took a tame penalty which was easily saved by Taite Holtam.

We were the side in control though, as we continued to build from the back and sustain the pressure on our opponents.

We put together a great sequence of play as Brierley fed Adedokun who whipped in a great first-time cross which found the head of Morgan, but the striker failed to control his effort as it just went over.

Morgan went close again as Booth slid a fine pass into him, but his eventual left-footed shot was saved comfortably by the goalkeeper.

Matty Macarthur curled an effort from distance which only just went over the bar.

It was Morgan again who went close as the striker was having all the chances. The b all landed to him nicely in the box and his firmly hit shot beat the goalkeeper but crashed off the crossbar.

Lisbie and Morgan went close early in the second half as we remained on top.

Brierley struck a firm shot from distance which hit the foot of the post and Lisbie followed up by curling a shot which just went wide.

Second-half substitute Ashley Hay had a header which came off the bar and Morgan failed to convert the rebound as the keeper tipped his header wide.

We were awarded another penalty as Hay was tripped inside the box just before he was about to shoot on goal.

Brierley took this one and dispatched into the corner of the net to give us a deserved equaliser.

The game would end 1-1 as despite our domination we could only settle for a draw.
