Brentford B forward Michael Olakigbe has joined Sky Bet League One side Peterborough United on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old made his Premier League debut earlier in the campaign against Bournemouth and has gone on to make a further seven league appearances for Thomas Frank’s side. He has made a total of 12 appearances in all competitions for the first team.
The forward committed his long-term future to the club in November 2023, signing a deal that keeps him with the Bees until the summer of 2028.
Olakigbe featured 27 times for Brentford B in his debut campaign, scoring seven goals after joining for an undisclosed fee in July 2022 from Fulham.
In his first season with the B team, he played a big part in the young Bees winning the Premier League Cup, assisting Alex Gilbert in a semi-final win over Fulham.
His three games for the B team this season have seen him on the scoresheet twice.
Olakigbe joins a Peterborough side currently sat third in League One. He will be looking to help their push for promotion to the Championship during his first professional loan move.
On Olakigbe leaving on loan, B-team head coach Neil MacFarlane said: "Michael is eager to learn and Peterborough are getting a very good young player. This is the next step in his young career and we wish him all the best."
