Tony Yogane has grown from strength to strength since joining Brentford B from Sheffield Wednesday last year and has shed light on his relentless efforts to elevate his footballing ability.

"I have been working hard to impress and continue to build my abilities as a footballer," he said. "The coaching staff here have played a crucial role in making me stronger, quicker, and more powerful."

He continued by saying that "When I first arrived, a significant focus was on achieving the required fitness levels to perform at this level."

However, it was his first Christmas with the club that marked a turning point for Yogane. "That's when I felt like I really took a step up in my level," he revealed, highlighting the pivotal moment that signified his growth.

"My understanding of the game has also improved, and I have the people that are helping me week in week out to thank for that. It is one thing carrying out instructions, but it is another using my talents to execute them to an even greater level."

Currently, Yogane finds himself in a good place as a player, after impressing in the FA Youth Cup defeat against Tottenham, the youngster also put in a good performance for the B team, in their draw against Fulham.

He said: "I am constantly working on developing my attributes and improving my contribution in terms of goals and assists is a priority, and I am aiming to elevate my running stats to match the first-team level."

Recognising the importance of patience and progression when it comes to improving his output, Yogane acknowledged: "Everything is a process, scoring goals is important for an attacker like myself, goals are a big part of my focus, be it creating my own chances or capitalising on being in the right positions."

In terms of inspiration, Yogane looks up to Bryan Mbuemo, drawing motivation from his style of play: "Every time I attend a Brentford game, I watch Bryan closely to learn from him."

Expressing his aspirations, he added: "I want to take set-pieces like him. Bryan's positivity on the ball and improving goal contributions each year inspire me to get better. It is the grind behind the scenes that sets him apart.

"I think you can see that he is a leader too. On and off the pitch the way that he carries himself is impressive and I look up to that. Every touch, run and attempt at goal is intentional and my first target is getting to that level.

"I am still at the early stages of my journey here, but Bryan's like the best roadmap to follow. More goals and more leadership, that is the plan."

Yogane's family play a crucial role in his development, offering unwavering support. "My mum and dad are both knowledgeable about football, and their advice has been instrumental," he revealed.

Another set of people who have impacted him are the Brentford coaching staff. Yogane mentioned: "Neil and Lydia have provided similar feedback on my game, outlining what they want to see from me. Their confidence in me only pushes me to perform even better."

With Yogane, the journey unfolds as a testament to hard work, family support, and the guidance of dedicated coaches, all contributing to his pursuit of becoming a key player for Brentford’s academy.
