Brentford Football Club are delighted to announce first team promotions for B team players Yehor Yarmoliuk and Ryan Trevitt who will now formally become part of Thomas Frank’s squad from the beginning of the 2023/24 season.
The two midfielders have enjoyed successful campaigns working within Neil MacFarlane’s B team and have been recognised for their development with official promotions.
Yehor is promoted after one season with the young Bees after signing for the club from SC Dnipro-1 in the summer of 2022 before going on to register 16 appearances with the B team, scoring three times and assisting twice. He made his first team debut in November 2022 in the Carabao Cup as the Bees faced Gillingham at the Gtech Community stadium as he became B team player number 25 to feature on the Robert Rowan First Team Debut Board. Yehor’s 2022/23 season was cut short due to injury, but he is working his way back to full fitness to start pre-season alongside the first team squad.

Ryan has had a brilliant season in red and white where he scored 16 goals in 28 appearances for the B team, whilst he also grabbed 11 assists for Neil MacFarlane’s side. The 20-year-old has steadily progressed within the B team set up since he first arrived during the 2020/21 season. He made his first team debut in August 2022 as the Bees faced Colchester United in the Carabao Cup before he also featured against West Ham United in the Emirates FA Cup in January this year.

Discussing both players and their promotions, B team head coach Neil MacFarlane said: “Yehor has been a very good signing for us and everybody has done a brilliant job with him on and off the pitch as he’s settled into the club. He’s been fantastic, bought into everything we’ve asked of him, and he will now be promoted to the first team, which he’s earned. He went through a real purple patch in terms of his form, sadly before he got injured, where he was playing to such a high level, and we wish him well for the new season with the first team.
“Ryan has been outstanding since he came in and he’s really worked at his game. He’s a terrific lad who wants to keep improving and his levels have been really high this year in terms of what he’s produced in assists and goals. He won the Mary Halder award recently which was deserved and we couldn’t be happier for him now he’s been promoted. He came to us from Leatherhead and has worked every day with the B team and featured heavily for us in our fixture programme and I think he is a real success story for us.”
