Brentford B defender Tristan Crama has signed a new three-year contract with a club option of one additional year.

The French defender has also joined Sky Bet League One side Bristol Rovers on a season-long loan deal.

Crama, who arrived in west London from AS Béziers in August 2020, has been a regular for Neil MacFarlane’s side in recent seasons and was part of the team that lifted the Premier League Cup during the 2022/23 campaign.

In total he has registered 92 appearances for the young Bees over the course of his three seasons with the club. He will now join Bristol Rovers to continue his development in the Football League.

Crama joins a Bristol Rovers side that finished 17th in League One last season. They have been in pre-season action in recent weeks with matches against Melksham Town and Eastleigh.

Bristol Rovers also played against Brentford B on 15 July, a game which Crama featured in, at Imber Court where they claimed a 1-0 win. That preceded a trip to Portugal before they play their two remaining friendly fixtures against Swansea City and Chesterfield.

Discussing Crama’s new contract and the opportunity for him to step out on loan, B-team head coach Neil MacFarlane said: “It’s brilliant news to see that Tristan has signed a new contract with the club. It's also a terrific loan move and, having been a real talisman for us last season, I think it's the perfect time for him to go out on loan. We hope to see him get good minutes in the league with a good club and we wish him all the very best at Bristol Rovers.”

Crama came through the ranks at his boyhood club AS Béziers in his native France. The youngster quickly progressed and went on to play senior football with Béziers before joining the Bees at the age of 18.

In his debut campaign he made 21 appearances for the B team and has become a one of the highest appearance makers in the past two seasons. The 2022/23 campaign saw him register 35 B-team appearances and six goals.
