Brentford B captain Val Adedokun has signed a new deal with the club.
After celebrating his 21st birthday on Wednesday, the versatile left-back has signed a contract which keeps him at the club until at least the summer of 2026.
Adedokun has been an integral part of the B team this season, putting in a number of good performances, most notably scoring a fine goal against Strasbourg Under-21s in the young Bees’ first game at Wheatsheaf Park.
The defender began his career with Malahide United, before going on to join the youth set-up at Dundalk in 2017.
He then progressed through the ranks at Oriel Park and went on to make his first-team debut for the club against Shamrock Rovers in September 2020.
Since moving to west London in the summer of 2021, the defender has continued to develop and was a big contributor to the B team’s success in the Premier League Cup last year.
Brentford B head coach Neil MacFarlane said: “Val has been a fantastic defender for the B team during my time here. We have seen him grow and develop season after season and, this particular campaign, we have given him the captaincy and he has carried that so well.
"He is a quiet leader but has great standards in his performance levels which have been extremely high. He has been able to contribute at the other end of the pitch too, with big goals and assists to add to his defensive qualities.
"He deserves his new contract and I’m delighted for him, and we want to see him keep improving and progressing with us.”
