Brentford B travelled to Exter City to face the Grecians on Tuesday afternoon, falling 4-1 in the behind-closed-doors fixture.

Ashley Hay got on the scoresheet in the first half to make it 1-0, before four goals to the home side handed them the pre-season friendly win.

The contest finished a week-long training camp in Wales, Neil MacFarlane’s side based just outside of Cardiff, undertaking a week of training and gym work.

Midfielder Ethan Brierley made his return from injury, last season’s Brentford B Players’ Player of the Season gaining a valuable 45 minutes of action.

Experienced B-team players Hay, Max Dickov and Isaac Holland led the way up front, the trio’s pace and pressure proving a problem for the Exeter defence throughout the contest.

Ollie Shield and Andre Grey gained valuable pre-season minutes in the starting XI, while substitutes Yaw Agyei and Kerron Samuels provided fresh legs in the second half.

The young Bees now turn their attention to back-to-back clashes at Wheatsheaf Park. They will face Brighton and Hove Albion Under-21s on Sunday from 2pm, before facing Chelsea U21s on Saturday 10 August from 4pm.
