Brentford have entered the Under-21 Premier League Cup and will play their first game tomorrow. The competition pits Under-21 teams from clubs with academies at Category One, Category Two and Category Three level against each other in a knock-out competition. This is the first year Brentford have entered and they have been drawn to face Queens Park Rangers. The match will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 6 October.

The competition has been running for three years and has been won by Reading and Southampton. Brentford enter at Qualifying Round Two stage along with other clubs with Category Two academies. Category One clubs enter at the next stage – Round One – and the competition is a 32-team straight knock-out from there with all ties decided on the night with extra time and penalties if needed.

Brentford face QPR in their qualifying tie tomorrow. The match will be played at Loftus Road and will kick-off at 7pm. Entry will be free and supporters can donate to QPR in the Community on the gate in lieu of paying to watch the match. Brentford beat QPR 3-0 when the teams met in the Under-21 Professional Development League in August. Jan Holldack, Montell Moore and Jermaine Udumaga scored for The Bees.

Brentford are currently eighth in the southern section of the Under-21 Professional Development League, one place and three points behind their opponents tomorrow.

With The Bees facing QPR, the scheduled game against Barnsley has been postponed. Brentford were due to host the Yorkshire side at Jersey Road tomorrow. This match will now be played later in the season.
