The Brentford FC Elite Under 19 Education and Football Programme trials for the 2018/19 season have been confirmed.
What is the Education and Football Programme Trials?
Aimed at students currently studying in Year 11*, this programme caters for young people who wish to combine studying for a BTEC Level Three in sport. Plus, they get the exciting opportunity to train and represent Brentford Football Club in The National League Under-19 Alliance.
The lessons will take place at West Thames College in Hounslow, and students will study a mixture of units that include:
Most significantly, players will train three times a week with highly qualified UEFA licensed coaches and potentially play in a regular match programme. Student athletes will also get a chance to visit the training ground and see what it takes to get into the Club’s B Team and beyond. The course will come alive with analysis tasks at Griffin Park – watching Brentford FC’s First Team in a league match.
The Trust has strong links with the Professional Footballers’ Association, which will help with academic and playing opportunities. For those players, who are at the very highest standard required, there will be a chance to train with Brentford FC’s B team. Students such as Ellery Balcombe and David Titov have progressed to the squad on a full-time basis.
When is the trial?
The Trust’s free trial takes place on Tuesday 13 February 2018 at Swift Road Outdoor Sport Centre in Southall.
