Brentford pair Sam Saunders and Nico Yennaris have extended their loans at Sky Bet League Two Wycombe Wanderers for rest of the regular season.

The pair have been with the Sky Bet League Two promotion-chasing outfit since the end of February.

A deal has now been agreed for them to stay until May 2.

There will be a recall clause allowing Brentford to bring them back to Griffin Park with 24 hours’ notice.

Sam and Nico have both played five games for Wycombe.

The Buckinghamshire side are currently third in Sky Bet League Two with nine matches remaining.

They are eight points behind leaders Burton Albion and one ahead of Bury, who are fourth, before they face Luton Town tomorrow, Tuesday March 24.

Mark Warburton, Brentford FC Manager, said: “I am delighted with how the loan is going for all parties.

“The feedback from [Wycombe boss] Gareth Ainsworth has been extremely positive about both players.

“From the players’ perspective, they are getting lots of playing time in a team fighting for promotion.

“And from our perspective, important squad members are getting valuable match minutes in preparation for any potential recall, for which we have a 24 hour notice period.”

Sam, 31, has played five First Team matches this season – all as substitute – since his recovery from a long term knee injury last November.

He recently signed an extension to his contract that keeps him at Brentford until at least June 2016.

Nico, 21, has made three appearances so far this season, his last in the 3-0 defeat at Charlton Athletic last month.

The Leytonstone-born defender signed from Premier League side Arsenal in 2014 for an undisclosed fee on a two and a half year deal.

The pair will join Development Squad defender Alfie Mawson at Adams Park - who has been on loan to Wycombe since last August - plus former Brentford players Sam Wood, Marcus Bean, Aaron Pierre, and Paul Hayes.
