Brentford put on a stellar performance beating Whyteleafe 6-0 in the London South East Division One North on Sunday.

The home side went into the break a goal up through a Samantha Read header in the opening half. Karleigh Osborne’s side put on a masterful second half performance scoring five times with Chloe Logie taking her goal tally to 40 for the season with a hat-trick, along with a Kirsty Matthews wonder strike and an excellent finish from Nikki Woods.

The Bees got off to a positive start as they looked to make it 11 wins in a row against a Whyteleafe side who were beaten 4-0 by Brentford in the reverse fixture.

Despite a good start from the home side, they were limited to very few chances in the opening half hour.

The closest the side came was when Kirsty Matthews cut inside from the right flank and let off a powerful shot which struck the cross bar before bouncing out of play.

Logie thought she had broken the deadlock when Ella Cottrell played the forward in behind the Whyteleafe defence with a great pass, but Logie’s effort from a tight angle clipped the outside of the post.

Brentford were finally rewarded for their patience on 37 minutes when Samantha Read grabbed her second goal of the season with a powerful header from a corner kick.

Whyteleafe had an early chance in the second half and nearly got themselves on level terms when Terri Crounston’s flicked on header went between Evie Witek’s legs, but the keeper managed to keep the ball out on the line.

The Bees continued to work the ball forward in the second half and the side earnt themselves a penalty just before the hour mark when Logie was chopped down inside the box.

The striker confidently stepped up and slotted the ball into the bottom right corner to give her side a two-goal lead.

The hosts were playing with a real swagger and continued to push forward in numbers in the search for more goals.

Matthews made it 3-0 on 69 minutes with an excellent strike as the midfielder came inside from the right flank to smash the ball into the back of the net from 25 yards.

Just two minutes later Brentford were at it again, this time it was Woods who found the net. The forward showed great skill to beat a Whyteleafe defender on the right side of the box before cutting inside and curling the ball into the far corner with her weaker foot.

Brentford’s substitutes made a real difference and added more energy to the side’s attack, Lucy Bolitho played a big part in the hosts fifth of the game when the forward found Logie with a great pass.

Logie showed great composure with the striker taking a touch before finding the bottom corner with her left footed shot.

The Brentford number nine ended what was a perfect individual performance and a great win for the hosts grabbing her hat-trick on 90 minutes.

Logie showed great skill inside the Whyteleafe box to lose her marker before curling the ball into the far right corner in neat fashion.
