Brentford Women’s Capital Cup campaign has been extended following a 5-0 win over Leyton Orient.
The Bees enjoyed a dominant 90 minutes at Buckhurst Hill Football Club, Chloe Logie netting four goals and Keira Ferns scoring one to secure the victory.
After a strong league win last time out, Karleigh Osborne made no changes to his side as they hit the road for a fifth consecutive game.
They started the better of the two sides, dominating possession across the opening 20 minutes and enjoying a handful of half chances on goal.
Brentford’s best look came on 24 minutes, captain Mollie Holmes finding Logie in stride, the striker putting the ball past the Leyton Orient keeper to give us a 1-0 lead.
Logie was back in the action five minutes later, a cleared ball leaving her one-on-one with her defender, before cutting back to her right foot and putting the ball in the top right corner to double the lead.
On a tough pitch the Bees continued to press and put pressure on the home side's defenders.
They got reward for effort as the break approached, Nikki Woods’ corner finding Ferns in the box who headed it home to make it 3-0 going into half-time.
Following an even opening 10 minutes of the second half Logie got the Bees back on the scoreboard, her powerful strike beating the Leyton Orient keeper diving to her right to give us our fourth goal.
She nearly added a fourth of her own just after the hour mark, her shot going just right of the goal.
Rebekah Edwards, Sophie Troth, Aya Mirjan, Maddie Heavingham-Ford and Eshe Davies each came on with 20 minutes to play, Edwards wasting little time in getting in on the action. Her shot hit the post, rebounded to Logie who fired another shot, which rebounded back to Logie and hit her boot before finding the back of the net for goal number four and the Bees’ fifth.
Despite the win being locked in, Osborne’s side continued to press and kept putting the home side’s defenders under pressure.
They couldn’t find a sixth goal, however still finished the game in dominant fashion and kept their Capital Cup dreams alive.
Brentford Women: Witek, Graver, Holmes, Logie, Webb (Mirjan, 71'), Woods, Matthews (Edwards, 68'), Worsley (Troth, 68'), Cottrell (Davies, 71'), Read, Ferns (Heavingham-Ford, 71')

Brentford Women head coach Karleigh Osborne praised his side's performance post-match on Sunday in what were difficult conditions away from home.
