Brentford Women recorded their biggest ever win after thrashing North Leigh 18-1 in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon at Eynsham Park.

The Bees put on a rampant display from start to finish with Chloe Logie, Ashley Cheatley and Nikki Woods scoring four goals each. Maddie Phillips and Ella Cottrell both grabbed two while Paula Holguin and Kirsty Matthews also netted.

Karleigh Osborne’s side began their FA Cup journey facing North Leigh who compete in step seven of the women’s football pyramid, one tier below the Bees.

The visitors took just a minute to get themselves ahead and it was Logie who finished an excellent move.

A brilliant pass from Kirsty Matthews found Chloe Webb on the left flank, the full-back carried the ball into the box before picking out Logie whose first time shot found the bottom corner.

Just two minutes later and Brentford doubled their lead, this time it was Cheatley, the forward took the ball down with her chest inside the North Leigh box before slotting her shot under Lauren Busby.

The away side struck twice more before the game reached the 15-minute mark, Maddie Phillips beat the North Leigh keeper with a neat finish from just outside the box before Cheatley struck again for Brentford.

The summer arrival wrapped up her second hat-trick in just three games on 16 minutes with another prolific strike.

It was only a matter of time before Logie found the net again, with the striker completing her hat-trick on 34 minutes following a strike from Woods.

Phillips scored Brentford’s ninth but it was North Leigh who netted the final goal in the first half after an error at the back from the Bees.

The second half was more of the same, complete dominance from the visitors saw Osborne’s side make it 10 shortly after the interval following a long distance strike from Matthews.

Goals from Cheatley and Woods made it 12 before the hour mark before Logie netted her fourth and final goal of the game on 66 minutes.

Substitute Holguin made an impact of the bench and grabbed her first of the season with a superb curled shot.

Woods sealed her hat-trick with 10 minutes to play and scored her foruth just eight minutes later.

Cottrell rounded out a perfect attacking display from Brentford scoring twice before the full-time whistle was blown.
