Kirsty Matthews says she is “looking forward” to playing under the lights at Bedfont Sports Club as Brentford Women face Denham United in the London South East Division One North at 7.45pm on Wednesday.
The Bees will look to make it 10 victories in a row and continue their incredible winning start to the season against Denham.
Matthews has played a key part in Brentford’s success so far this season and has shown how versatile she is having played in a number of different positions.
“It’s been a great season so far,” said Matthews.
I’ve played in midfield, wing-back and as a winger. As a versatile player, I’m always happy to help the team in any way possible.”
Following a big win over Dulwich Hamlet Reserves on Sunday, the Bees now top the table with four games in hand over second-place Clapton Community.
Despite what has been a great start to the campaign, Matthews insists it’s still all to play for and Brentford have to remain focused right until the final day of the season.
She continued: “The league table is obviously looking good for us at the moment, but it’s so early on in the season. We approach every game knowing the next game and 3 points are the most important.”
“We cannot get complacent and need to take it one game at a time with Denham up next on Wednesday.
“This will be our second game in just three days against a tough Denham side, so we know we’ll have to be at the top of our game.”
