Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo has been named as a possible contender for a prestigious award by England legend Alan Shearer. The former striker, the Premier League's record goal scorer, has chosen players that might be in the running for the Hublot Young Player of the Season award. Bryan was on the list.

Bryan, 22, has been in great form in recent weeks. He scored one and made one as Brentford beat West Ham United on Sunday and contributed two assists in a memorable 4-1 win at Chelsea at the start of April. He has one goal and four assists in his last three games.

The Premier League has a monthly YouTube series "Rising Stars", highlighting the contenders to be named the 2021/22 Hublot Young Player of the Season. The award was won last season by Phil Foden and is presented to the best-performing player aged 23 or younger at the start of the campaign. Bryan was featured in the latest episode.
