We are pleased to announce the signing of 17-year-old Byron Wilson. The defender has signed a two-year contract with a Club option of an additional year.
Byron has been training with the young Bees in recent weeks and featured for the side during matches with Crewe Alexandra and Hearts and he will add further options to Neil MacFarlane’s squad.
The young defender came through the ranks with Coventry City and featured for their Under-18 side during the 2021/22 season. He departed Coventry in the summer and has impressed in training and in matches with young Bees, often operating as a full back.
On adding Byron to his squad, Brentford B Head Coach Neil MacFarlane said: “This season has seen us add some younger players to our group as we have already seen with Isaac (Holland), Tony (Yogane) and Marley (Tavaziva). Byron has good potential and he’s already a good athlete for somebody who has just turned 17 years of age. We know there is more to come from him and we feel that we can push him on to achieve his goals.
“We will work with him defensively at right back, but we also know that he has some really good attacking attributes. He is a good crosser of the ball and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
