Charlie Adams has been promoted to Brentford’s First Team Squad.
The 19-year-old has come through the youth ranks at Griffin Park, first joining The Bees after being spotted playing Futsal with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.
He completed a two-year scholarship in the summer of 2012 and signed his first professional deal.
Charlie was part of Brentford’s successful Development Squad last season and helped The Bees finish fourth in the inaugural Under-21 Professional Development League Two South.
He scored seven goals in 19 Professional Development League appearances and set up many more, he also made his Football League debut against Carlisle United.
Charlie signed a new two-year Development Squad contract last summer and this term he has played nine Under-21 league games and scored twice.
He joined Skrill Premier Barnet on loan last month but was recalled after 28 days and made his second appearance for Brentford as a substitute in the Sky Bet League One win over Tranmere Rovers last week.
Charlie’s contract has been upgraded and he is now officially part of the First Team squad.
Mark Warburton, Brentford FC Manager, said: “Charlie has fully justified this move.
“He has gone out on loan to Barnet, got good pitch time and made a good impression.
“We had really good feedback from the staff at Barnet.
“The move from Development Squad dressing room to First Team dressing room is a significant one.
“It does not happen because of one-off good performances in training.
“Charlie has done well over a long period of time.
“He has good quality and desire.
“It is testament to Academy Director Ose Aibangee, Development Squad Manager Jon De Souza and the Academy staff for their excellent work with Charlie over recent months.
“I am delighted for him.”
