Earlier this month, supporters and staff gathered at the Gtech Community Stadium for a fans' forum that focused on women and girls’ experiences as Brentford fans.

Recent home fixtures; results from the club’s mid-season survey; the Premier League's gender equality strategy; and updates from Brentford FC Community Sports Trust were among the talking points.

The forum was also an opportunity to share feedback from the Brentford Women first-team fixture held at the Gtech in November.

Our new method of reporting discrimination and abuse on matchdays, via a QR code located on the backs of seats, also led to a discussion about challenging discrimination and abuse.

Members of the Brentford Women first team were in attendance and shared their experiences of being female footballers at the club, along with their hopes for the rest of the season.

Amber Lloyd, from Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, discussed her work in girls football development which aims to create a pathway for players into the Brentford Women squads.

Joanne Surgeoner, fan relations and events manager, said: “It was a great opportunity to bring some of our fans together to discuss initiatives to support women and girls at Brentford.

"The forum gave us a chance to re-confirm some of our priorities for the rest of the season, including continuing to build the fanbase for Brentford Women and our upcoming spotlight fixture at Bedfont Sports Club on 2 April.

"The feedback shared is a valuable part of developing our women’s teams and ensuring we can best support girls in football.”
