We are pleased to confirm that defender Conor McManus has agreed to join Brentford B from 1 January 2023 from Bray Wanderers.
The 18-year-old has signed a pre-contract agreement to link up with Neil MacFarlane’s side from next year. The contract will run for two and a half years with a Club option of an additional year and he will join for an undisclosed fee.
Conor will be able to play in fixtures for the young Bees upon the opening of the January transfer window.
The Irishman joins having had experience playing first team football with Bray as he recorded 16 appearances for the club. He made his debut in May this year against Wexford FC for the League of Ireland First Division team.
The youngster came through the ranks with Cabinteely FC before the club merged with Bray as the defender continued his development at Carlisle Grounds.
Discussing Conor’s arrival, Brentford B Head Coach Neil MacFarlane said: “Conor is a terrific acquisition. Over the last few years, we’ve been able to dip into the market and bring in young players who have had some experience at first team level. He’s been playing for Bray in Ireland, and we know that he is a terrific young lad who will be part of the positive group culture that we have created here.
“He’s young, tenacious, and we know that he will improve. He has a lot of good attributes in that he really wants to defend. If we can work with him to continue to develop in the other aspects then we will have a really good young player on our hands as we move forward.”
