Denmark's World Cup fate, and that of Brentford's first player to ever feature in the tournament while contracted to the Club, will be decided this afternoon. Henrik Dalsgaard played for Denmark as they beat Peru 1-0 to kick-off their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign last week. In doing so, he became the first player to appear at a World Cup while contracted to Brentford FC. He also played as Denmark drew with Australia last Thursday.

The Danes have four points from two games and sit second in Group C. They face France at 3pm today, Tuesday 26 June, in their final game of the first stage in Moscow. If they avoid defeat they will reach the last 16 and a win will ensue they top the group. But defeat will leave Denmark at risk of elimination if Australia beat Peru.

Henrik now has 13 caps for his country and has earned nine of them since he joined Brentford last summer. If he plays tomorrow he will become only the fourth man - after Dai Hopkins, John Buttigieg and Hermann Hreiðarsson - to earn ten or more caps while at Brentford. He has also represented Denmark at Under-21 and Under-20 level.
