This week’s FPL deadline is Saturday 29 October (11am), with the first fixture of the weekend - Leicester City v Manchester City - kicking off at 12.30pm.

Here are our tips and selections for Gameweek 14.

Brentford

David Raya

David Raya - £4.6m

David Raya is the go-to Brentford player this weekend.

The Spanish goalkeeper has registered ten-point hauls in his last two home games, keeping clean sheets against Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea, and leads the Premier League in saves this season (51).

On top of that, he is up against the Premier League’s lowest-scoring attack this weekend. Wolverhampton Wanderers have netted just five league goals so far this campaign and have failed to score in four of their six away games.

Rico Henry - £4.5m

Rico Henry is another who could profit from a return to home soil on Saturday.

Selected by just 1.2 per cent of teams, Henry is 23rd among all defenders on the FPL’s ICT index, which takes into account their influence, creativity and threat metrics.

As well as his defensive output, Henry was a constant attacking threat against Chelsea last time out at the Gtech Community Stadium, combining with Ivan Toney for his early chance, and then hitting the side netting with a shot late on.

Wolves also struggled this season with attacks from out wide, with left-sided players scoring or assisting against them in three of their last four matches.

Best of the rest

Harry Kane

Harry Kane – £11.5m

In the potential absence of Erling Haaland (more on that below), Harry Kane could be the man to fill the void, not only in the forward line, but also as your captain.

After a six-game game unbeaten run under Gary O’Neil, Bournemouth have lost back-to-back matches to slip down to 14th in the table.

Kane has a good record against Bournemouth, scoring seven times in eight matches against them and has only blanked twice in FPL all season. O’Neil could also be without first-choice ‘keeper Neto this weekend due to injury.

This is also a Bournemouth side who have conceded three, four, and nine in their games so far this season against the traditional big six.

Miguel Almirón - £5.4m

He’s been on fire in recent weeks but it’s still not too late to get on the Almirón train ahead of Newcastle United’s weekend clash with Aston Villa.

Before the season started, Almirón had scored nine goals in 110 Premier League appearances; he has now netted six times in 12 matches this season, including five in his last five.

Not even the great Erling Haaland can match his points tally since Gameweek 9.

Wildcards

Andreas Pereira

Andreas Pereira - £4.6m

The Fulham playmaker faces Everton this weekend in his best form of the season.

Pereira has amassed 24 points over his last four matches, earning attacking returns against West Ham United, AFC Bournemouth and Leeds United. He scored once and supplied three assists in that run, blanking only once.

His four shots on target in the last four Gameweeks is joint-top for Fulham, while his seven shots rank second. Andreas ranks third among all midfielders in Fantasy for chances created from Gameweek 9 onwards.

Everton visit Craven Cottage on Saturday evening in poor defensive form on the road. They have yet to keep a clean sheet away from home this season, losing each of their previous two.

Julian Alvarez - £6.0m

It would take a brave FPL manager to back against Erling Haaland returning to fitness ahead of the weekend, but the league’s top scorer was replaced at half-time on Tuesday with a foot injury to add to flu symptoms.

Should Haaland miss the weekend’s game at home to Leicester City, the most direct replacement is team-mate Julián Álvarez. The Argentinian striker has impressed in his limited minutes so far, scoring four goals in 565 minutes.

If he is relied on as the main striker, then Alvarez might offer a better return for FPL owners.

Leicester have kept four clean sheets in their last five Premier League games but dealing with this City side is a different story all together.
