Tony Yogane says he will be doing all he can to nail down a regular spot in the B Team starting XI having joined recently from Sheffield Wednesday.
The winger became the second 16-year-old to link up with Brentford B this week, alongside fellow Wednesday raised Isaac Holland.
Discussing his arrival, Tony explained: “It’s about doing extra bits before and after training and it’s about having the right attitude and the correct mindset to break into the team.
“I’m very happy and excited to be here. I like the attacking football and we can see that everything is going well for Brentford at the moment.”
The chance to step out to a new challenge to continue his development under Neil MacFarlane was an exciting prospect for the young winger, and he’s looking forward to featuring in a range of fixtures for the young Bees.
“There are a lot of chances and games of different types that will test you,” said Tony. “You can play against non-league sides and Academy sides. They (Brentford) can help me to progress and become the player that I want to be in the next few years.
“I want to train well with the B Team, get goals, get assists and work hard for the team. The overall goal is to try and push into the First Team."
Tony’s move to London sees him step away from a club that he had been at for a number of years who helped him develop into an exciting prospect, and Tony says he has fond memories of his time with Sheffield Wednesday.
He continued: “I started at Under-9 level and started as a striker. I’ve been able to play everywhere, whether it’s centre back or centre midfield, but at Under-14s I became a winger and really enjoyed it out there.
“Last season was good, I started training with the Under-18s and then managed to get a couple of starts. Last season I was able to get lots of goals and assists and I think it was a good campaign.”
