Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed that full-back Aaron Hickey will be out until 2024 with a hamstring injury.
The defender, who has only missed one game this term due to suspension, will miss the rest of the year after picking up the problem in training earlier this week.
The Bees boss explained: “It’s a hamstring injury that he picked up on Thursday and it will be a long one. Unfortunately, he will definitely be out for the rest of this year.”
Frank also confirmed that Mark Flekken was taken off at half-time due to a dead leg.
Flekken's replacement, Thomas Strakosha, kept a clean sheet in the second half, which was key to the turnaround.
As well as that, the head coach praised the mentality of his players, which he believes was a key factor in the Bees' comeback on Saturday.
“I’m so pleased with the mentality of the players - being 2-1 down in a Premier League game is always difficult to turn around,” he stated.
“We started the first half, we went 1-0 up, then they scored two goals - the first one is a great goal. The last 10 minutes before the break, we were more on top, creating chances and opportunities.
“Then, second half, I felt we were so cool, so composed, kept discipline in the game plan, kept playing, kept getting down the side and producing crosses, and we got two well-deserved goals in the end.
“I think the win was so well deserved in the end which is very impressive. I’m very pleased.”
Frank added: “There's a lot of strong personalities in the group. We’ve created this good culture together, but I’ve said it many times: me, the coaches, the staff can push it to 80, maybe 90 per cent.
“But the last, and most important, 10 per cent comes from a fantastic culture, where they push each other, where they build this belief - that's down to the players.”
