Brentford’s Aaron Hickey has suffered an injury setback.
The full-back, who last appeared for the Bees in the 2-0 victory at Chelsea on 28 October, has been sidelined by a hamstring issue picked up in training.
“Unfortunately, he has had a minor setback,” said Frank.
“He will be out for a while. I don’t have a return date right now. I hope [to see him again this season], but sometimes when players have been out for a while, I like to see them back out on the grass before I make a guess on what’s possible.
“It’s not completely torn; he just had an operation on his hamstring.”
Frank revealed that January signing Yunus Emre Konak is also out for an extended period, and went on to discuss Josh Dasilva’s knee injury which will see the midfielder undergo surgery.
“It’s the story of our season,” Frank stated. “[Konak] got injured in the warm-up before a behind-closed-doors game against Brøndby. He had surgery. Yunus, we are talking about months.
“Josh, let’s get the surgery out of the way and see how it goes. It’s very sad. I feel for Josh massively.
“I feel for any player that has an injury, but there’s two things with Josh: he has been very unlucky and he has been with us for a long time, so naturally your relationship grows.
“He’s a lovely person, so it’s tough to take.”
