Midfielder Mathias Jensen will return to Brentford’s matchday squad for Saturday’s Premier League game against Ipswich Town, head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed.
Jensen, sidelined by a calf injury, last appeared for the Bees in a 3-1 victory over Southampton on 31 August.
“He will be involved in the squad, which is very positive,” Frank said in his pre-match press conference. “He has trained all week and looks good.”
Rico Henry (knee), Igor Thiago (knee) and Gustavo Nunes (back) are unavailable for the Tractor Boys' visit to Gtech Community Stadium, but Frank revealed that the trio are progressing well.
“Rico is getting closer, but not close enough [for Ipswich],” he said.
“I don’t know if cautious is the right word, but we want to get it right. When a player has been out for a long time, you want to be sure when you put him on the pitch that he is ready.
“I’d love to say something now, but it’s better for me to come to a future press conference and say: ‘Tomorrow, Rico is available.'”
On Thiago and Nunes, Frank added: “Both of them are running around on the pitch, but not with the team. That’s positive.”
Aaron Hickey (hamstring) and Josh Dasilva (knee) remain the west Londoners’ longer-term absentees.
